Biography:
Steve McShane is Founder, Owner and General Manager of
McShane’s Nursery & Landscape Supply. Founded in fall of
2005, McShane’s is Monterey Bay’s newest & premiere location
for both retail and commercial plant & landscape material.
Steve is a Soil Science graduate from Cal Poly, San Luis
Obispo and has his MBA from Santa Clara University.
Steve is a Past Chair of the California Young Farmers and
Ranchers and currently serves at the National Secretary for
the American Young Farmers and Ranchers organization. He
served one term on the Hartnell Community College Board of
Trustees, including time as Vice- Chair and as Chair.
Steve is the recipient of the State Outstanding Young Farmer
Award from the California Junior Chamber of Commerce. He is
also the 2006 winner for the California Farm Bureau
Excellence in Agriculture Award. In Spring of 2007, he was
awarded the Founders Award from Leadership Monterey
Peninsula.
In 2008, McShane’s Nursery & Landscape Supply was awarded
the Retail Rising Star Award by the American Nursery and
Landscape Association. This award recognizes innovation and
success in meeting the changing demands of outdoor living
and landscape.
Steve has served on the board for Meals on Wheels, Habitat
for Humanity and the Salinas Jaycees. He is currently a
member of the Salinas Downtown Rotary.
When he’s not working, Steve enjoys running, traveling the
planet and growing exotic fruits in his backyard.
