The Monterey County
Young Professionals Group (MCYPG) is an organization formed to
offer networking opportunities to business professionals in
their 20s and 30s residing in Monterey County. With over 500
members from all over the tri-county area, the MCYPG is
filling a need while serving the community.
The idea for MCYPG was developed in 2002 by Lisa Thomas,
Elizabeth Diaz and their colleagues, all of
Armanasco Public
Relations, Inc., after hearing many of their peers’ desire
to develop contacts among other young professionals in the
tri-county area who were serious about their careers.
The concept was reinforced while conducting research for a
client project in which top community influencers were
interviewed. Many of these business and community leaders
reported the need for “the next generation to step up”. As a
result, MCYPG was formed. MCYPG helps fill this gap
by providing young professionals with the occasion to meet
and mingle with their peers, foster relationships and
business development in a sophisticated, relaxed and
enjoyable atmosphere.
MCYPG recognizes that we are all very busy and involved
in our careers and individual volunteer work. Because of
this, we do not ask for your time to fundraise or contribute
to charitable activities, but rather ask you to attend and
participate in our networking mixers. MCYPG can put you
in contact with other organizations, as well as provide
resources available to business professionals throughout the
community.
Since 2002 the membership has continued to grow and the
feedback and interest remains strong. We are confident that
the need for MCYPG will continue and we remain committed
to fulfilling that need! |
