The Mission of the Monterey County
Young Professionals Group (MCYPG) is to be the
central hub for networking, personal development, leadership
and recognition opportunities that empower local young
professionals (ages 21-39). Comprised of 700+ Members (and
growing), MCYPG is exclusively a volunteer-run organization.
The Goals of the MCYPG Management Team are:
- To provide a forum for
networking and business development through the
production of regular social events and an extensive
on-line resource geared toward services, events, and
personal development.
- To support professional and
personal development of its membership by hosting
speakers and/or brief presentations at events.
- To offer leadership
opportunities for young professionals by welcoming
members to participate in the planning and delivery of
events and activities.
- To develop a strong culture of
recognition for its membership, including formal and
informal recognition in the form of public events,
awards, and personal gratification.
MCYPG hosts bi-monthly mixers at
venues throughout Monterey County that provide attendees the
opportunity to network with other young professionals while
enjoying a variety of locations, event themes, and social
opportunities. Frequently, these mixers include Networking
Games (and Prizes) to make it fun and easy to meet new
people. The MCYPG event locations range from upscale,
sophisticated restaurants and lounges, to exciting,
activity-oriented venues.
MCYPG was founded in 2002 by Lisa Thomas, Elizabeth Diaz and
their colleagues at Armanasco Public Relations. In July
2008, MCYPG became an independently-operated organization.
